You are invited to a… LIVE CONCERT! …Do you remember those?
The Richard Roddis Singers
Sunday 25th July, 3.00 – 4.00 pm
The Lady Chapel, St Mary’s Church, Bridge Gate, Derby DE1 3AU
Free Entry: retiring collection in aid of St Mary’s Restoration Project or live-streamed via St Mary’s Facebook page.
Programme available online click here.
This renowned choir meets annually for a Residential Choral Course, led by Richard Roddis and Esteve Costa, usually at Easter. The group of around 24 singers hasn’t been able to meet at all for two years, so a special Weekend Course has been arranged, culminating in this concert, entitled Ring Out, Wild Bells!
Tennyson’s New Year poem, particularly apt at a time when choirs nationwide seek to make New Beginnings, will be sung in a thrilling setting by Jonathan Dove. The concert will showcase the choir in the best music – music the soul has been aching to experience these last months of enforced silence!
St Mary’s Restoration Project. The Sanctuary window (The Jesse Tree Window) is the current focus – read about the project in the current Parish Newsletter.
Don’t miss what is likely to be one of the first live choir concerts back on the scene.
Please expect to wear a mask and maintain social distance.
